Dr. Mohammad Ayazi announced construction of the first test room in the country with the help of national experts
Deputy Minister of Oil Habibollah Bitaraf at the 14th International Energy Exhibition (Kish Enex 2018) visited the stand of the Research Institute of Petroleum Industry of Iran and received information on the micro-CHP project.
Director of the Energy Faculty of Research Institute of Petroleum Industry Dr. Mohammad Ayazi said that the project involves the simultaneous generation of electricity and heat, said: "The purpose of this project is simultaneous production of electricity and heat in order to increase the efficiency. The basis of this technology is the use of a permanent gas engine, which can operate at constant speed for a long time."
He emphasized that the project began with the support of the Optimizing Fuel Consumption Company and now it is in the final stage, adding: "In order to launch this project, extensive studies has been carried out on domestic engines, and finally, the OHVB engine has been selected, which is produced in Iran."
The design and construction of complete engine parts was confirmed by Research Institute of Petroleum Industry and a domestic company, "after extensive changes, we turned it into a permanent engine" -Mohammad Ayazi said.
Director of the Energy Faculty of the Research Institute of Petroleum Industry added: "the power of the engine is 14 kW of electricity and 35 kW of heat, the efficiency is about 90%, and at the commercialization stage, the price will be around 1/4 of the price of the similar European product."
In conclusion, he emphasized: "In addition to this project, the MCHP and GHP testing room was designed and constructed, which is the first test room in the country, and all stages have been carried out by domestic experts."
